CASA's 9th Annual Hearts Go Out for Children Gala is, "Dancing for the Stars!" The stars, of course, are the abused and neglected children served by dedicated CASA volunteers! Six local celebrities will be paired with dance instructors and will literally dance their hearts out for the children! The event will emulate the Dancing with the Stars show and the same rules apply with the exception of voting. Votes can be cast in the forms of pledges/donations. The winner will be determined by 50% of the judge’s scores and 50% of the amount of pledges raised. Every $1,500 raised sponsors a CASA child by providing a CASA volunteer for one year. A minimum $1,500 pledge earns the donor a reserved table for 10 guests at the event!
The event will be hosted by KOCO's Jessica Schambach, and Senator Mike Morgan.
Music will be provided by the Stillwater Jazz Band and a professional dance DJ service. Two Salsa Dances and one Argentine Tango will be performed by International Dance of Oklahoma City. Have a significant other that won’t dance? Never fear, professional dancers will be on hand to dance with guests who wish to purchase dance cards! Have a friend that refuses to dance?! Purchase a dance card for your friend- if they decline they have to make a donation or get out on the dance floor! Local youth dancers will perform for the evening’s entertainment. The event will also feature mini live and silent auctions and games of chance to win great prizes! For those non dancers who don’t want to get caught with a dance card there will be a, “Game Lounge.” A buffet style dinner and open dance floor make this the best, all inclusive, Valentine date for your dollar! There’s something for everyone and it’s all for a great cause!

Our CASAngels
CASAngels are a special group of CASA supporters that have assisted the Payne County CASA program by sponsoring fundraisers, making donations, underwriting events, or providing services free of charge. CASAngels are not CASA volunteers but individuals, businesses, or organizations that have assisted CASA or volunteered for CASA in other capacities. CASAngels are invited to attend an annual appreciation cocktail party held each fall in their honor. At the party CASAngels get a special sneak preview of the annual Hearts Go Out for Children gala held each year in February. CASAngels receive a special CASAngel blue ribbon pin in recognition of their efforts. When CASA board members term out they automatically become a CASAngel. Become an Angel and help provide a CASA volunteer to an abused and neglected child. Please contact the CASA office for more information!

We also need volunteers that want to make a difference in life of a child.
In Kind donations of office supplies, snacks and drinks (for CASA training and CASA case staffings), as well as paper supplies such as plates, napkins, cups are welcome. We also accept new toys, phone cards, book bags, disposable cameras, gift cards and other items to be provided to CASA kids as needed.

“Just for Now: kids and the people of the court” books This hard back, 48 page book geared towards children ages 6-12 can be used as a tool to help children in protective custody understand what role the court appointed volunteer (CASA) plays in their lives during such a traumatic time. The book also serves to educate children on many other aspects of the judicial system and the other “new” adults who are involved in their lives. To learn more about the book visit www.childadvocates.org and click on “Books Now Available.” Payne County CASA collects these books for our Lending Library so CASA volunteers can check the books out to use in their casework.
Used printer cartridges, cell phones, PDA’s and laptops are accepted. Payne County CASA is a member of www.usrecycleink.com Click on “Complete Buyback List” to see if your used cell phones or cartridges qualify for a recycling donation.
