CASA’ s 10th Annual Hearts Go Out for Children Gala, “Dancing for the Stars”

Make your reservations now for CASA’s 10th Annual Hearts Go Out for Children Gala, “Dancing for the Stars!”  The event will feature a champagne fountain for guests to enjoy to help CASA celebrate the event’s 10th anniversary on Saturday, February 6, 2010.  The event will be held at the Payne County Expo.  Doors open at 6:00 pm, dinner at 6:30 pm and the Dancing for the Stars live show at 7:00 pm.

You don’t want to miss the Dancing for the Stars show with performances by local celebrity dancers.  The lady dance competitors include Angela McLaughlin, Kelli Killam, and Lauren Sheller.  The three gentlemen competing are Steve Frazier, John Howell, and Dr. Garrick Shreck.  The local celebrity dancers have been paired with professional dance partners.  All of the dance instructors are from Ballroom Revolution Studio in Broken Arrow except our own Ellen Morgan!  The dancers are working feverishly on their routines.  The winner of the dance show will be determined by adding 50% of the judge’s score and 50% of the pledges raised.  Be sure to make a pledge to support your favorite dancer!  The dance competition will be judged by Linda Twidell, the creator and owner of Encore! Dance Studios in Stillwater until her retirement in 2002.  Dr. Rob Harder, former CASA Dancing for the Stars competitor and winner of last year’s People’s Choice Award, and Hazel Lopez-Crutcher, owner of iDance Studios in Oklahoma City.  The show hosts will be Cristy Morrison, Executive Director of the Stillwater Convention and Visitors Bureau and Mike Morgan, local attorney, former Senator and President Pro Tempore.

The event will also include an upscale buffet dinner and desserts by Tom & Jerry’s Catering and a live auction featuring the OSU Presidential Basketball Suite, two electric mini cars from H20 Sports Unlimited, a pink sapphire and diamond necklace from Mitchener Farrand Jewelers, and an all inclusive Valentine date with Dancing for the Stars competitor and eligible bachelor, Dr. Garrick Shreck.

The silent auction area will have the feel of an open air market with items up for bid under tents.  The area will feature outdoor fountains also up for bid sponsored by Citizen’s State Bank and the OSU PLANET Club.  The entire outdoor auction area, including a child’s playhouse built and donated by the First Christian Church Youth Group, will be beautifully lit courtesy of M & K Lighting.  New to the event will be a Wine Pull and a Lucky Gem Game where everyone wins but some will win big!  There will also be an opportunity for a 1 in 50 chance to win a beautiful black and white diamond ring courtesy of Mitchener Farrand Jewelers.   There will be an open dance floor off and on throughout the evening with live music by The Great Big Band.  There is something for everyone so plan to make this your Valentine event.  Come out and dance the night away with your Valentine for abused and neglected children in Payne County!

General admission reservations will be $125 each or sponsor tables that include reserved seating for 10 along the dance floor are $1,500.
